January 12, 2009 – Certified gold coins continue to maintain their remarkable value today despite minor losses in spot price due to investor confusion on what will be the next best investment. Today’s job data analysis showed that the United States lost more jobs in 2008 than at any time since the end of World War II. This alone should spark the prices of certified gold coins along with most other spot prices as investors rethink their investment decisions and re-enter possibly the only market that could profit and preserve hard-earned wealth while others are falling to record lows. External factors will continue to push precious metal prices in the direction they need to go and such things like the weakening United States Dollar and unemployment levels should lead the way for profit in the near future if investors get into the market while they still can.
Today gold fell about $10.90 or 1.27% to $846 per ounce but it is still up $36.40 or 4.50% in the last 30 trading days. Where the future will take us depends strongly on several economic factors and all eyes are currently on President elect Barack Obama’s predicted stimulus plan that could either make or break the United States economy and of course the global economy that strongly relies on us. It is still undebated whether or not this stimulus plan will go towards building infrastructure, creating jobs, keeping mortgages from default or simply cutting taxes.
