$20 Gold Coins
Over the past handful of years, there has been growing interest in gold investing. The obverse side of the $20 Lady Liberty features her profiled image, wearing a coronet upon her head. Her hair is worn up, with a few looping curls draping down her neck. The reverse side depicts an American bald eagle, with spread wings, and a coat of arms over his breast. The famous motto, “IN GOD WE TRUST’ is omitted from the original Lady Liberty coins, but later added in 1866.
The design on the obverse side of the Saint Gaudens coins, features a full-length Lady Liberty, striding foreword, and carrying a torch in her right hand, and an olive branch in her right. The reverse features the profile of an American Eagle, soaring from right to left, above beams from the radiant sun. Again, the famous motto was originally omitted from this coin, and later added in 1908.
